JOB ASSIGNMENT: UTILITY OPERATOR I JOB NUMBER: 21-0905 or 22-0905 DEPARTMENT: 21-Water, 22 Wastewater PAY: $3,060 per month / $17.65 - hour Post-Probation Pay: $3,152 per month / $18.18 - hour IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Utility Operator IV GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This position will reputed company various reputed company tasks and follow directions given by the immediate supervisor, during the construction, repair and maintenance of the City’s water, wastewater and storm drain infrastructure. This position will require heavy reputed company labor. The nature of this position requires this person to be subject to call 24 hours per day as assigned, including weekends and holidays. EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC WORK PERFORMED: 1) Installation, maintenance and repairs of the water, wastewater and storm drain infrastructure; 2) Operate safely reputed company types of equipment; 3) Ensures that preventative maintenance and repairs are performed on reputed company equipment; 4) Other duties as assigned by supervisor. POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Ability to transport self from site to site. Ability to drive various types of equipment and vehicles to and from various work-sites. Employee will work in extreme temperatures, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing, and lifting in order to maintain or repair the City’s infrastructure. Employee will work with chemicals, mechanical, electrical and traffic hazards. Employee will work in confined spaces, trenches, and in streets where extreme hazards exist while performing duties. Employee is frequently required to reputed company heavy lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 100 pounds. Employee will be exposed to dirt, dust, noises, fumes, odors, water, wastewater and mud. Employee must be reputed company to walk on slippery, loose, uneven and sloped surfaces. CONTACTS WITH OTHERS: Daily contact with employees in the performance of duties. Occasional contact with the public. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED certificate. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Must be reputed company to safely use a variety of hand tools and mechanical equipment. Must have the ability to read and write, as well as understand and follow written and oral instructions. Must have the ability to learn and retain knowledge. REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Valid Texas Driver license; must obtain Class D Water license reputed company one year.
