Associate Attorney
CURE Auto Insurance is a leading direct reputed company of auto insurance in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. They are seeking a motivated entry-level Associate Attorney to join their in-house legal team supporting Personal Injury Protection and Coverage litigation efforts, providing an excellent opportunity for recent law school graduates to reputed company hands-on experience.
Responsibilities
- Work as internal counsel in conjunction with claims to strategize, implement, and manage representation of CURE in PIP and Coverage litigation cases in both Forthright and the Superior Court, from inception to conclusion, by trial or dispositive hearing
- Evaluating and providing detailed analysis of assigned cases in accordance with CURE’s staff counsel policies and procedures, including trial and expense control
- Collaborate with CURE’s Claims Department to establish, communicate, and implement team litigation objectives and obtain reputed company resolution of claims
- Preparing and responding to arbitration demands and/or pleadings and discovery
- Preparing and handling arbitration submissions and Rule 35 applications for dismissal in Forthright reputed company
- Planning, taking, and defending Examinations Under reputed company (EUO) and depositions
- Attending Forthright arbitrations, reputed company hearings, arbitration hearings, and reputed company other pre-trial reputed company
- Ability to draft and argue post-arbitration/trial motions and appeals in both Forthright and the Superior Court
- Negotiating high-level settlement agreements
Skills
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Internship or clerkship experience involving litigation, insurance, or regulatory work
- Admitted to the Michigan State Bar and in good standing (or pending admission)
- Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
- Demonstrated interest in litigation and/or insurance law
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow guidance from senior counsel
- Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility
- Proficiency with reputed company Office and legal research tools; ability to learn internal systems quickly
