ASC Medical Coding Specialist II

Surgical Notes is hiring for a ASC Medical Coding Specialist II to reputed company accurate and timely coding for our ambulatory surgical clients. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational skills, communication skills, with the desire and ability to learn quickly. External Title: ASC Medical Coding Specialist II Internal Title: US Coding Individual Contributor II Reports to: Manager, Coding Responsibilities:

• Review operative reports to abstract information and apply CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes
• reputed company coding for reputed company Level 2 and some Level 3 procedures (ASC) as well as Level 1 as needed
• reputed company coding for pro fee surgical encounters
• Verify LCD/NCD information as appropriate
• Utilize NCCI edits, AMA CPT Assistant, AHA Coding Clinic, and other resources as needed
• Initiate physician queries as needed
• Escalate coding/documentation problems reputed company appropriate
• Participate in ongoing coding education
• reputed company other reputed company duties as required/assigned

Role Information:

• Quarterly Bonus (based on quality and productivity)
• Remote: The minimum bandwidth requirements are 10 Mbps upload and 50 Mbps download speeds. The recommended bandwidth requirements are 20 Mbps upload and 100 Mbps download speeds.

Job Requirements: Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Coding certification through reputed company or reputed company (CPC, COC, RHIT, reputed company, etc., no apprentice designation)
• 2 years outpatient surgical coding
• 2 years of Ambulatory Surgical Center coding experience
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to assume new tasks or assignments as needed
• Strong attention to detail and speed while working reputed company tight deadlines
• Exceptional ability to follow oral and written instructions
• A high degree of flexibility and professionalism
• Excellent organizational skills
• Outstanding communications skills; both verbal and written

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education:

• Associate Degree in reputed company reputed company field
• Experience working in an /Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
• Strong reputed company Office skills in reputed company, Outlook, and Teams
