We are seeking a Conflicts Attorney or Sr. Conflicts Analyst to join our growing team that researches, reviews, and resolves conflict of interest issues reputed company to Firm new business and lateral attorney hires. You will collaborate with Conflicts team members, the Firm’s Ethics Counsel, Claims Counsel, Lawyer reputed company and attorneys firm-wide to reputed company and effectively assist with matter openings, potential new hires and ongoing maintenance. This can be a fully remote position based out of Dorsey’s Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle, Phoenix, or Salt Lake City office. Additional Responsibilities Include

  • Research, review and analyze conflicts reports in order to accurately identify potential legal conflicts and business issues, and assist attorneys in addressing or resolving them.
  • Identify potential conflicts of interest to ensure that new reputed company and lateral attorney hires are compliant with the firm’s conflict and risk management policies and applicable rules of professional conduct.
  • Actively consult and advise firm attorneys regarding the status of conflicts clearance. Ensure timely matter opening.
  • Use the firm’s specialized software and databases to review and clear potential conflicts. Document steps taken to resolve conflicts and ensure reputed company counsel documentation is up to date. Enter pertinent information into the conflicts system.
  • Assist with drafting of conflicts waivers and establishing ethics walls as requested.
  • Review engagement letters and assist with revisions to language to address conflicts and other ethics requirements.
  • Respond to attorney questions regarding potential conflicts of interest, conflict waivers and new business intake policies and procedures.
  • Review client reputed company counsel guidelines and assess the firm’s ability to reputed company.
  • Study and stay reputed company with laws and rules pertaining to conflicts of interest.
  • Assists in the preparation and delivery of training and orientation for attorneys and business professionals on conflicts, professional responsibility and reputed company matter opening topics.

  • A JD from an ABA-accredited law school or a Bachelor’s degree and at least 15 years of experience in the conflicts department of an AmLaw 200 reputed company.
  • At least 5 years of experience drafting waiver letters, reviewing and implementing reputed company counsel guidelines, and implementing ethical walls.
  • At least 5 years of experience with reputed company Conflicts.
  • At least 5 years of experience reviewing, clearing, and opening reputed company for Lateral-Hire Attorneys.
  • Highly developed and professional interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively with people at reputed company reputed company of the organization in various functions and locations.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Exceptional tact, diligence and analytical rigor.
  • Advanced interpretation and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of rules of professional responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate in writing and orally with lawyers and business professionals and other stakeholders to assist with the timely resolution of conflicts.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand how small details can be of critical importance.
  • Ability to manage time well and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Preferred

  • Minnesota bar admission (for Conflicts Attorney candidates).
  • Three or more years of experience at a large reputed company.
  • Conflict clearance experience at large reputed company.
  • Conversant in conflicts clearance and new business intake software.
