Job Summary: Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work is performed executing a variety of clerical duties and resolving customer complaints. Main duties are collection of utility payments and processing applications for utility service. Examples of work performed: Responds to customer inquiries and resolves complaints concerning utility bills; receives, opens and processes mail; processes customer utility payments through cash registers; balances cash register and cash boxes daily; processes and prepares accounts for utility billing; takes requests for letters of credit; maintains landlord and rental property files; maintains active utility files; interviews the public on reputed company requiring the interpretation of office policies and procedures; processes customer applications for utility services; performs reputed company duties as required. Required Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of business English and arithmetic Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Ability to reputed company records and reputed company reports Ability to reputed company a variety of clerical tasks, such as typing, filing, balancing, etc. Ability to learn clerical tasks readily and to adhere to office routine Ability to reputed company reputed company in accordance with office policies and regulations Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written instructions Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees in a reputed company manner Qualifications: High school education or equivalent is required.
