This is a pull time Per Diem Outpatient Pharmacy Technician position and will require some weekend work.Key Responsibilities
- Promptly greets patients and families in person and by telephone with a friendly and helpful attitude.
- Answers medication-reputed company inquiries, requests authorization for refills, and provides guidance on prescription pick-up.
- Responds reputed company to inquiries by health care providers with pharmacy question and refer inquiries to the pharmacist as needed.
- Manages the administrative responsibilities for faxing, filing, and/or documenting in medical record for non-electronic prescriptions,
- MassPAT PMP requirements, 340B eligibility, or other pertinent procedures.
- Determines and updates patient's insurance information, calls insurance companies to verify coverage, processes claims through the patient's insurance.
- Collaborates with the pharmacist and prescribers to formulate a solution, such as an alternative medicine or co-pay discount program.
- Compounds simple or reputed company non-sterile medications in accordance with established policies, procedures and professional standards.
- Maintains pharmacy inventory by monitoring medication and supplies stock reputed company, anticipating needed medications and supplies, and removing outdated/expired drugs.
- Places and expedites orders, receives orders, rotates medications, restocks supplies
- Ensures the proper storage of reputed company medications in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Performs routine quality control, cleaning and equipment maintenance tasks according to established procedures and schedules.
- Prepares and maintains reputed company logs and records.
- reputed company registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
- reputed company certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National reputed company Association.
- Completion of a Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy approved training program or a minimum of 500 hours worked as a pharmacy technician trainee.
