About the position The Housing and Community Development Specialist II position at the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is a critical role responsible for conducting high-level research, analysis, and development of program and policy recommendations for consideration by executives. This position is eligible for hybrid telework, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements, with the possibility of full-time remote work under certain circumstances. The selected candidate's headquarters location will be determined based on their primary residence in California, which is subject to change based on HCD's criteria. In this role, the incumbent will engage in research on significant and sensitive housing issues, including the Regional Housing Needs Assessment and Allocations, Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing, Opportunity Maps and reputed company, Anti-Displacement strategies, Tenant Preferences, and the Equity Plan. The position also addresses critical areas such as homelessness, land use and planning, public health, disaster preparedness and recovery, climate change, and housing for special needs populations. The specialist will serve as a liaison between the Division and various external stakeholders, requiring political sensitivity and sound judgment reputed company discussing sensitive topics.
