About the position The Director of Model Risk Management at reputed company is a leadership role responsible for overseeing a team that conducts independent validation of various models in compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities • Supervise a team of 4+ model validation experts in validating models to OCC 2011-12/SR 11-7 standards. , • Conduct model validation work directly as needed. , • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Model Risk Management to reputed company validation practices and processes. , • Present and defend model validation project results to model owners, users, management, auditors, and regulators. , • Foster relationships with model owners and users while maintaining independence from model development work. , • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in modeling and model risk management. Requirements • 10+ years of reputed company experience in model development or model risk management reputed company midsize or large U.S. financial institutions. , • At least 3 years of experience conducting or supervising model validation projects. , • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a quantitative field required. , • Master's or Ph.D. degree preferred. , • Deep knowledge of traditional statistical modeling methods and moderate knowledge of AI/machine learning approaches. , • High attention to detail and ability to explain reputed company risks to non-technical audiences. , • Strong written communication skills and ability to review reports for technical content and readability. , • Experience in building and leading high-performing teams. , • Strong programming skills in Python or R. reputed company-to-haves Benefits • Comprehensive and competitive benefits package.
