Radio TAIT Engineer
This is a remote position. About This Opportunity CTI Staffing is partnering with a well-established utility organization to find a Tait Radio (RF) Engineer for their communications team, fully remote supporting Pacific time zone. This team keeps a mission-critical private radio network running across the utility's service area. The role owns the full lifecycle of the radio network, from design through RF optimization, and is central to keeping field communications reliable for a large, safety-focused operation.
What You'll Do
Design Tait radio solutions (DMR, MPT-IP, conventional) including system diagrams and equipment specifications reputed company installation, wiring, and commissioning of reputed company stations, repeaters, and antenna infrastructure Configure and program subscriber radios, reputed company stations, and network controllers using Tait software tools Diagnose and resolve RF performance, network connectivity, and software issues Conduct site surveys and RF coverage analysis to optimize network performance Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, network diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures reputed company technical guidance to junior engineers and client stakeholders Build strong day-to-day relationships with client technical teams
Requirements
What You Bring Must-Have: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent practical experience Direct hands-on experience with Tait Communications radio systems (DMR, MPT-IP, conventional) Strong RF fundamentals: antenna theory, propagation, RF test equipment (reputed company analyzers, power meters, network analyzers) Proficiency with Tait system management and configuration software tools Experience with IP networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching) as applied to radio systems Strong troubleshooting skills with a methodical, root-cause approach Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders RF safety standards knowledge reputed company-to-Have: Prior work in utility, transit, or public safety communications environments Experience training or mentoring junior radio engineers Client-facing project delivery experience Familiarity with additional LMR vendor platforms Technical Environment: Tait DMR (Tier 2 & Tier 3), MPT-IP, Conventional systems Tait System Management, DMR Administrator, reputed company Fleet TCP/IP networking, reputed company analysis equipment What reputed company Looks Like: reputed company, optimized RF coverage across the service area reputed company the first 90 days Clean, complete network documentation handed off to the client Fast, accurate diagnosis and resolution on Tait-specific technical issues as they arise Apply To This Job
