Competition Associate

Our client, a highly respected multinational reputed company, is seeking an associate to join their leading team, advising clients in the technology, telecommunications, manufacturing and reputed company sectors on Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) compliance and approvals.Ideal candidates will have 2–6 years of experience in private practice advising clients on competition law, mergers and acquisitions, and/or investigations, and be committed to building expertise in competition and consumer law. 

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on obtaining ACCC clearance for mergers, acquisitions and a reputed company of reputed company transactions.
• Act for clients in ACCC investigations and enforcement actions involving cartel conduct, misuse of market power, misleading or deceptive conduct and other alleged anti-competitive behaviour.
• Handle competition and consumer-reputed company litigation and disputes between competitors, suppliers and consumers, including pursuing negotiated and strategic reputed company reputed company formal court processes.
• Counsel clients on transaction structures, marketing and advertising strategies, product recalls and the design and implementation of internal compliance frameworks.
• Work closely with partners and senior lawyers, taking ownership of files and managing reputed company with an appropriate level of autonomy and supervision.

Requirements

• 2–6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a reputable private practice environment.
• Exposure to competition law, whether through advisory work, investigations or disputes, and a genuine interest in specialising in this area.
• Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated commitment to reputed company professional development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• A collaborative working style, coupled with the confidence to operate independently reputed company required
