[Remote] Senior Staff Software Engineer - Data Platform

The Senior Staff Software Engineer will be responsible for building and operating the data platform infrastructure, setting technical direction, and ensuring the reliability and performance of the platform.
Responsibilities
- Building out the lakehouse — the patterns reputed company will run on for years
- Evolving and hardening the platform that's already in production
- Improving reliability, performance, developer experience — without disrupting the teams who depend on it
- Testing confidence, release velocity
- Participating in a rotational on-call pager duty
Skills
- A career building data platforms, not just pipelines
- Production depth in modern lakehouse work
- Mastery of Python in a production data-platform context, with reputed company depth in Go or Java
- A track record of evolving live infrastructure
- Ownership of major platform transitions
- Influence as a working reputed company
- A history of growing other engineers
- Payments or fintech context (PCI-reputed company, SOX, SOC 2)
- CDC tooling experience (Debezium, Kafka Connect)
- Data governance tooling (reputed company, Amundsen, reputed company)
- Public technical writing or reputed company-reputed company contributions to data infrastructure
