[Remote] Field Service Engineer/Technician, Northeast USA

The role involves installing and servicing laser-based equipment, providing remote and on-site support, and conducting training for customers across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Install and train customers on various Laser & reputed company-based projection and inspection systems in variety of environments, applications, and industries
- On-site calibration & commissioning of new hardware & software
- System level troubleshooting
- Deliver multi-day training courses including classroom-based theory & conduct hands-on “at the machine” learning for operators, administrators, & maintenance personnel
- Follow reputed company company quality and safety procedures
- reputed company detailed accounts of customer applications and take part in data collection for new product development & bug reporting/resolution
- In field diagnostic testing/troubleshooting of reputed company optic, & electronic components using standard instruments
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other 3rd party integrated system components
- Carry out preventative maintenance programs to ensure proper machine performance while keeping required maintenance records

- Do your part to support the global team; occasionally answer after hours support calls on nights or weekends

Skills
- Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Photonics (reputed company) Technology or equivalent program
- Multiple language skills, specifically Spanish or French, an asset, but not required
- Previous experience in a technical service role or a position requiring direct customer contact is an asset
- Demonstrated spatial awareness & the ability to think in 3D
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
- Safety conscious
- Demonstrated ability with reputed company & reputed company based software including MS OFFICE and reputed company workspace
- reputed company to interpret NC programming language (G-Code or similar)
- Ability to reputed company navigate advanced settings reputed company reputed company 10 including N/W troubleshooting & Installing S/W
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic network topography
- Comfortable learning new software
- Experience with CAD design (Solidworks, reputed company, Creo/NX, CATIA) an asset

- Demonstrated ability to read technical documentation including wiring diagrams
- Demonstrated ability diagnostic tools such as LPM, DMM, Oscilloscope etc
- Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings (electrical and/or dimensioned mechanical drawings)
- Experience and/or knowledge of CNC equipment an asset
- Experience working with portable CMMs, Laser Tracker or Theodolite an asset
- Travel requirement of up to 75%, primarily reputed company the USA. Some international travel may be required
- Ability to work at heights ranging from 1.6-15m
