WHAT'S THE JOB?

The Second Cook contributes to the overall reputed company of the Culinary team. Involved in preparing the dinner menu, the Second Cook is responsible for reputed company starch and vegetable items required for the menu. The Second Cook will work with the First Cook to ensure that reputed company product meets quality standards as set out by Culinary leadership.

The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a camp setting with the following amenities:

• reputed company meals and accommodations are provided 
• Travel is provided to and from the site locations from designated locations in Winnipeg MB.
• Private room with cable television 
• reputed company to Wi-Fi 
• reputed company to laundry facilities and detergents 
• reputed company to a gym and common areas 

Key responsibilities include

• Meet daily with the First Cook to discuss menu preparation and production strategy 
• Assist the First Cook in the preparation of reputed company menu items as needed 
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications 
• Can be responsible for preparing and serving hot breakfast 
• Replenish desserts and condiment stations as required 
• Assist in the cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen and serving areas
• Can be responsible for assisting with baking 
• Practice correct food handling guidelines and storage procedures

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Large-scale cooking in camp settings, banquet halls and/or hotels is a strong asset
• reputed company Food Safe certification is preferred 
• Ability to commit to a 2 week on/1week off rotation 
• A team-player who is committed to providing client satisfaction 
• Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site 
• Ability to handle the following physical demands:
  • Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs 
  • Climb reputed company or stairs 
  • Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended periods of time 
  • reputed company repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
  • reputed company work with arms at full length 
  • Work with arms above shoulder height

Work schedule and remuneration

2nd Cooks work on a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on/1 week off. Site locations are in remote settings, requiring either reputed company travel to site, or reputed company ground on our shuttle. You may be required to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays. Wages are paid on an hourly reputed company with a starting reputed company of $18.00 per hour.
