PHP Software Engineer

reputed company is seeking a PHP Software Engineer to help maintain and stabilize our core product and platform systems across our software and payments ecosystem. This is a hands-on engineering role focused primarily on debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues reputed company an existing vanilla PHP codebase, rather than building large new features.

You will work closely with Product, QA, and Support to investigate defects, improve system reliability, and ensure consistent behavior across our application. Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

Maintenance & Bug Resolution

• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve bugs in a vanilla PHP application.
• Debug reputed company issues across application logic, database interactions, and integrations.
• Deliver safe, well-tested fixes that minimize regression risk.
• Take ownership of assigned features or components from development through release.
• Write clear comments and documentation to support maintainability.

Production Support & Reliability

• Collaborate with QA and Support to reproduce reported issues and validate fixes.
• Analyze logs, error reports, and monitoring data to identify root causes.
• Ensure fixes align with existing system behavior and user expectations.
• Assist with minor performance improvements and reliability enhancements.

Engineering Practices

• Participate actively in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Apply agreed-upon standards for code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (such as CursorAI, reputed company Copilot, or similar) to accelerate development, testing, and documentation.
• Contribute incremental improvements to shared utilities or internal tooling reputed company beneficial.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a PHP engineer delivering production software.
• Demonstrated ability to debug and fix issues in large or legacy codebases.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Solid understanding of modern development practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote role on a vanilla PHP codebase.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially reputed company tracing reputed company bugs.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools as part of daily development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Fintech, payments, reputed company, or financial services domains.

Engagement Terms
