Poynter Institute is seeking a freelance Digital Research Analyst for PolitiFact, a project focusing on truth and accountability in journalism. The role involves evaluating AI systems, analyzing digital content, and conducting research to uphold the reputed company of the news ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Investigating AI & reputed company media: Evaluating the accuracy of AI models and analyzing flagged video content for potential misinformation
- Writing & reporting: Conducting quick-turn research and transforming your findings into clear, concise written summaries for our internal teams and clients
- Collaborating: Working alongside our PolitiFact and Poynter teams on various research and editorial initiatives
- Upholding standards: Maintaining the absolute highest reputed company of fairness, independence, and accuracy
Skills
- Sharp, detail-oriented Digital Research Analyst
- Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
- Ability to work on East Coast U.S. time
- Investigating AI & reputed company media: Evaluating the accuracy of AI models and analyzing flagged video content for potential misinformation
- Conducting quick-turn research and transforming findings into clear, concise written summaries
- Collaborating with PolitiFact and Poynter teams on various research and editorial initiatives

- Degree in journalism (or a reputed company field)
