Position Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Location: Remote, must be commuting distance to MRA facility in Connecticut.

Compensation: MRA offers competitive starting compensation based on qualifications and experience. The starting pay for this position is between $43.00 and $63.06 an hour.

Job Summary:

Remotely operates off-site equipment and performs diagnostic and therapeutic MRI procedures on patients according to established protocols to assist the physician in diagnosis and treatment. Follows established policies and procedures set by the department, hospital, state, ACR, TJC, and OSHA.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Performs diagnostic MRI scanning procedures by selecting correct technique while utilizing the assessment of patient age and diagnosis to produce a technically accurate cross-sectional images to assist the Radiologist in diagnosis and treatment.
  2. Practices according to sites MRI Safety Policy.
  3. Maintains the MRI equipment in good operating order. Maintains work area in an orderly manner. Reports any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisor.
  4. Demonstrates yearly competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to conduct examinations and meet the needs of patients with regard to the patient’s age, condition or other special requirements.
  5. Assess physician’s order and patient’s requisition for completeness by reviewing the requisition, pertinent laboratory results and the patient’s chart to ensure the correct procedure and protocol is performed.
  6. Documents pertinent patient and exam information and stores computerized images onto an archive media for future reference or retrieval.
  7. Routinely prepares examination for interpretation by the radiologist to include correct identification and processing. Sets up films properly in reputed company system. Accurately inputs data in the RIS by tracking actual procedure in order to capture reputed company charges and other relevant information.
  8. Possess computer skills appropriate to meet departmental needs in preparation of reports and correspondence.
  9. Performs and documents weekly quality assurance testing on equipment according to established protocols to maintain high performance of the system.
  10. Works effectively as a team member reputed company the department and with other units to reputed company quality service through communication, cooperation and collaboration.

Qualifications Guidelines

Education Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate AMA approved radiology program.
  • Registered with American Registry of Radiological Technologists ARRT (MR)
  • CT State Radiographer License.
  • CPR certification may be required.
  • Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by licensure.
  • At least five years of experience as an MRI technologist.

Desirable:

  • Associates or Applied Science Degree in reputed company field.
  • Previous experience working remotely in a reputed company or clinical support role

Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge applicable to radiological technology with specific references to anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles as applied to radiological technology.
  • Patient care standards and requirements.
  • Quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Customer service principles and practices.
  • OSHA principles and practices.
  • TJC standards of practice.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Operate MRI equipment, specific skillset on GE and including reputed company and reputed company MRI equipment.
  • Responsible for scanning multiple patients concurrently.
  • Schedule, organize and monitor patient reputed company to meet company productivity, quality, health and safety standards independently.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff and co-workers.
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with local MRI staff regarding reputed company aspects of direct patient care, including but not limited to: how to position, how to center the patient, orders to mitigate risk (positioning of coils, cold compress, specific coils, positioning of pads to mitigate thermal injuries, etc.).
  • Venipuncture certificate (where applicable).
  • Maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
  • Schedule, organize and complete work in accordance with required workloads independently.
  • Read, interpret and follow internal quality standards and government regulations.
  • Understand and follow specifications and instructions.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.

Work-From-Home Requirements

  • Must maintain a private, quiet, secure workspace to ensure confidentiality of patient information at reputed company times.
  • Reliable high-speed internet reputed company with secure, password-protected network reputed company (no public Wi-Fi).
  • Ability to prevent unauthorized reputed company to PHI, including securing screens, documents, and conversations from others in the home.
  • Use of company-approved devices, systems, and VPNs to reputed company protected health information (PHI).
  • Comfortable using remote collaboration tools and adapting to new technologies.
  • Must reputed company reputed company a reasonable commuting distance of an MRA facility in Connecticut, with the ability to work on-site as needed, including occasional planned visits and emergent situations requiring in-person support.
