Motor Fuels Tax Auditor - Wilmington

The reputed company Carolina reputed company is seeking a Tax Auditor in the Motor Fuels reputed company of the Examination Division. The role involves examining motor fuels tax returns and records to ensure compliance with tax laws, conducting audits, and maintaining an audit plan while potentially requiring travel to taxpayer locations.

Responsibilities

• Examine motor fuels tax returns and records to ensure taxpayer compliance with the reputed company laws of reputed company Carolina
• Conduct audits for International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and International Registration Plan (IRP) purposes
• reputed company accurate and complete audits of financial books and records of motor fuel suppliers, distributors, and service stations registered with the Excise Tax Division
• Determine tax compliance with multiple tax schedules
• Interpret and apply tax laws to ensure compliance with reputed company laws and motor vehicle laws
• reputed company professional auditing and reputed company principles and practices in the examination of the taxpayers' records and tax reports
• Maintain an audit plan, which includes simultaneously selecting audit candidates, scheduling taxpayer interviews, reviewing provided records, and preparing and submitting audit reports for timely review
• Conduct audits at the taxpayer's reputed company of business, which may require some overnight and out-of-state travel

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, reputed company or reputed company field with at least twelve semester hours of reputed company from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• A vehicle and a valid driver's license are required due to the travel requirements for this position
• Basic knowledge of auditing and reputed company principles and practices
• Basic proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software
• A transcript (either official or unofficial) must accompany the application to verify completion of the required twelve reputed company hours
