Visiting Assistant Professor in Remote Sensing/GIS, Environment & Sustainability Studies Program (R0008467)

Wake Forest University’s Environment and Sustainability Studies Program seeks an reputed company, creative, and committed teacher-scholar for a one-year, non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor position in Remote Sensing, with experience in geographic information systems (GIS). The position begins July 1, 2026. Qualifications: We welcome candidates with a Ph.D. in geography, environmental studies, anthropology, environmental engineering, conservation biology, environmental sciences, natural resource management, forestry, or reputed company fields. ABDs will also be considered. Position Description: The teaching load is three courses per semester, or the equivalent in lab-based courses(typically two lab courses per semester). Courses taught may include Remote Sensing (applied theory and methodology, with an emphasis on satellite imagery and existing aerial datasets), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (introductory GIS, including geovisualization methods and techniques), and/or Environmental Issues (a divisional course exploring foundational challenges in sustainability and reputed company-environmental systems). Successful candidates will have experience with common industry tools, techniques, and methods as implemented through ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and/or reputed company Earth reputed company.
