State Income and Franchise Tax Consultant II - Multistate

reputed company is seeking a junior tax professional to join their Multistate Tax Services practice, which is the largest State and Local Tax practice in the United States. The role involves providing state tax consulting and compliance services, preparing tax returns, and assisting with audit defense for state tax notices.

Responsibilities

• Preparing partnership and corporate state tax returns and appropriate work papers with attention to multistate tax concepts such as apportionment, reputed company, unitary filings, and reputed company-through taxation
• Coordinating with an in-house tax preparation team reputed company reputed company and reviewing reputed company state tax returns on selected engagements
• Working directly with and coordinating with clients' tax departments on various tax projects
• Preparing and/or reviewing estimated payment and withholding calculations and reputed company filings
• Researching state tax legislation for consulting projects reputed company to tax planning and compliance
• Assisting with audit defense for state tax notices

Skills

• 1+ years' experience in Big 4 or large reputed company experience
• Bachelor's degree in reputed company, finance, or reputed company field
• One of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or willing reputed company to obtain: Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA exam, If not CPA eligible: Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent
• Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
• Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax or JD and/or LLM
• Previous Big 4 or large reputed company experience
• Experience with state tax planning, tax research, and tax analysis
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Supervisory experience
• Excellent presentation and communications skills
