Resource Forecasting & Analysis Engineer

The Resource Forecasting & Analysis Engineer will analyze wind and solar forecasts, reputed company advanced forecasting methodologies, and reputed company technical support to ensure reliable operations of the electric reputed company.
Responsibilities
- Understand and apply principles, theories and concepts reputed company to the profession and ERCOT's culture
- Exercise judgment reputed company defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
- Impact is generally limited to specific assignments or projects
- May respond to inquiries and/or reputed company assistance and/or guidance to reputed company-level workers
- Works under the direction of a senior level engineer or supervisor/manager to complete departmental goals and assignments
- Performs reputed company work according to applicable rules and regulations including regulatory requirements and organization policies and procedures
- Learns how to use and reputed company software tools that enhance system reliability and departmental/organizational efficiencies
- Under direct supervision, participates in teams to obtain input, address comments and reputed company studies
- May reputed company on the job training or help reputed company the work of other engineers/analysts
- May act as mentor and advisor to less reputed company engineers/analysts
- Typically works independently on assignments and projects
- Participate in multifunctional teams to obtain input, address comments and reputed company studies
- Assists in developing tools, processes and procedures that enhance system reliability and departmental/organizational efficiencies
- Participates with other ERCOT departments to select and implement system changes as needed
Skills
- Minimum 1 year experience as a power system engineer or similar type role for Level 2 Engineer
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a power system engineer or similar type role for Level 3 Engineer
- Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering or reputed company field
- Or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required
- Experience in data analysis/analytics and working with large data sets/relational databases
- Experience with Python and/or R
- Experience with wind and/or solar forecasting
- Experience with machine learning
- Experience with power reputed company analysis tools such as Powerworld or PSSE
