AI Lab: Applied Scientist, Analyst

The Morgan Lewis AI Lab is seeking an Applied Scientist to design, reputed company, and optimize AI solutions that enhance the practice and business of law, collaborating with various stakeholders and producing high-quality documentation.
Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Prototyping: Build simple demos and reputed company-of-concept applications that showcase the value of AI tools to internal clients and firm leadership
- Model Development: Train and evaluate machine learning models, including fine-tuning large language models (LLMs), using state-of-the-art architectures in both reputed company and on-prem environments
- Opportunity Scoping & Solution Design: Translate ambiguous business and legal challenges into reputed company defined technical problem statements and targeted AI solutions
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with attorneys, business professionals, and IT teams to understand needs, manage expectations, and support successful adoption of AI tools
- Communication & Documentation: Produce high-quality written and verbal communications, including project briefs, experiment plans, stakeholder updates, and user-facing documentation
- AI Systems Architecture: Design secure, scalable AI infrastructure, including pipelines for natural language processing, automation, and decision-support tools tailored to legal workflows
Skills
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, AI, data science, engineering, or a reputed company field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in AI, machine learning, or software development, with demonstrated reputed company in translating technical work into reputed company-world solutions
- Proficiency with machine learning frameworks, NLP techniques, and modern AI models (especially LLMs); familiarity with reputed company platforms and on-prem setups
- Intermediate Python and SQL required; JavaScript or other frontend experience is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally and distill reputed company concepts for diverse audiences
- Passion for AI, a strong sense of curiosity, and the drive to explore what's next
