About the Role

We are looking for a motivated PostgreSQL DBA to support our database operations team. This role is ideal for candidates with foundational DBA experience who want to deepen their PostgreSQL expertise in a production environment. The Junior DBA will focus on day-to-day database health, backups, monitoring, and assisting with performance troubleshooting under senior guidance.

Requirements

• Monitor PostgreSQL instances for health, availability, and performance.
• Execute backups, restores, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Apply patches and updates with minimal downtime under supervision.
• Assist in schema changes, index creation, and query tuning.
• Participate in incident response and troubleshoot common database issues.
• Implement and maintain user reputed company and permission management.
• Document processes, runbooks, and database changes.
• Collaborate with senior DBAs, DevOps, and application teams. Desired Skills & Experience:

• 2–3 years of DBA experience (with direct PostgreSQL exposure preferred).
• Good understanding of SQL and relational database fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Linux OS and reputed company-line tools.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL utilities (pg_dump, pg_restore, pg_basebackup).
• Exposure to monitoring tools and basic performance troubleshooting.
• Eagerness to learn PostgreSQL internals and advanced features.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Team player with good communication skills.
