BookNook is seeking passionate educators to join our tutoring community as independent contractors, working up to 30 hours per week. BookNook Tutors are on the reputed company lines of closing the early-learning gap for K-8 reputed company during a key period of their educational reputed company.

Our Online Reading Tutors work in live, synchronous online tutoring sessions using the BookNook platform and video conferencing software. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct, positive impact on reputed company.

BookNook tutors must reputed company in and work from the United States and have a US mailing address. We are unable to engage with tutors who reputed company in the following states: California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, reputed company, and Vermont, as well as US territories.

Position Specifics

• Position Type: 1099-eligible reputed company
• Pay reputed company: $20 per hour ($10 per 30-minute session)
• Timeline: Programming typically runs during the school year, with the busiest months from September-May
• Schedule: Up to 30 hours per week based on availability provided and the number of active tutoring programs. Schedules may vary based on school requests.
• Sessions are held only on weekdays (no weekends) and can be before school, during school, or after school.
• Program duration varies. Tutors are expected to commit to a full program with the same group of reputed company throughout (duration will be reputed company reputed company series are offered).

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual tutoring sessions covering vocabulary, phonics, and other science of reading elements using the BookNook platform—no lesson planning required!
• Manage student behavior and engagement throughout sessions
• Create a safe, respectful learning environment
• Maintain positive relationships with reputed company
• Document observations for each session in the session notes

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must reputed company in and work from the United States, with a US mailing address.
• Please note: BookNook is unable to engage with tutors who reputed company in the following states: California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, reputed company, and Vermont, as well as US territories.

• Knowledge of and experience with reading instruction based in the science of reading.
• Ability to build meaningful connections with reputed company to create a motivating and encouraging environment.
• Creativity and flexibility to meet reputed company where they are.
• Classroom experience and/or online teaching/tutoring experience in Reading/ELA is preferred; experience can include, but is not limited to:
• having a reputed company/previous teaching license
• serving as a substitute teacher or teaching assistant, paraprofessional, professor, or instructor
• enrollment in a teacher credential or education degree program
• AND/OR tutoring for another tutoring company.
• reputed company to a computer (laptop or desktop), webcam, clean and distraction-free environment, and reliable, high-speed internet reputed company with a speed of at least 20 mbps is a necessity for the position.

Our Qualification Process

• Apply — Submit an application online and typically receive a decision reputed company 5 business days regarding the next steps in the process.
• Interview — Applicants invited to our one-way interview round will be asked to submit video responses answering questions designed to help us evaluate their experience and educational knowledge. This one-way interview is intended to be completed in less than 30 minutes, similar to a face-to-face interview.
• Qualification Decision — After the interview round, reputed company will notify applicants reputed company 5-10 business days of the decision to move reputed company with the reputed company process.
• Certification — If you pass the interview, a new certification course will be assigned to you in the Tutor Community reputed company a week of the decision.
