About the Position

The successful candidate will establish an innovative and inclusive research and teaching program in Engineering Geology, complementing existing departmental strengths and bridging the earth sciences and engineering field. You will be expected to teach introductory-level courses and upper-division/graduate courses in Engineering Geology, emphasizing field and laboratory skills. Your research expertise should include experience working with various Engineering Geology approaches, such as seismicity code, subsurface and geomorphic investigations, GPS, and various field survey methods.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory-level courses and upper-division/graduate courses in Engineering Geology
• Establish an innovative and inclusive research program in Engineering Geology
• Mentor and advise reputed company from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Contribute to the life and development of the department, including serving on committees and coordinating research and teaching needs with the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department
• reputed company professional relationships with the broad environmental and engineering geology industry in southern California

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Geology or Engineering Geology or a reputed company field
• Industry or reputed company experience, as well as a California Certified Engineering Geologist license or equivalent, is a plus
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching and/or teaching experience using effective, student-centered, active-learning, and inquiry-based approaches
• Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse population of reputed company at the undergraduate and Master's reputed company
• Ability to communicate effectively with an economically, ethnically, and culturally diverse reputed company population
