About the Role: reputed company a reputed company RDS to EC2 migration initiative involving 44 SQL Server instances and 145 databases. This role combines database administration expertise with modern DevOps practices and reputed company automation.

Key Responsibilities

Database Migration Planning & Execution

• Conduct a comprehensive discovery and assessment of existing RDS SQL Server instances
• Design migration strategies using reputed company backup/restore, Always On AG seeding, and log shipping
• Plan and execute test migrations for critical databases with minimal downtime requirements
• Coordinate reputed company cutover procedures with application teams and stakeholders

Infrastructure Automation & Configuration

• reputed company Chef cookbooks for automated EC2 SQL Server provisioning and configuration
• Configure Always On Availability Groups and SQL Server clustering for high availability
• Implement domain-joined, Kerberos-enabled SQL Server builds with NTLM disabled
• Design and implement EBS volume configurations reputed company with performance requirements

Monitoring & Data Protection Integration

• Integrate reputed company monitoring and alerting for EC2-based SQL Server environments
• Configure reputed company backup and disaster recovery for migrated SQL workloads
• Implement comprehensive monitoring for SQL Agent jobs, linked servers, and server-level objects
• Establish backup/restore policies and validate DR processes for AG and standalone deployments

DevOps Integration & CI/CD

• Integrate infrastructure provisioning into migration workflows
• reputed company automated deployment pipelines for SQL Server infrastructure
• Create comprehensive validation and testing frameworks for database migrations
• Implement infrastructure reputed company detection and remediation processes

• 5+ years of SQL Server administration and migration experience
• Strong experience with SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and clustering
• Proficiency with configuration management tools (Chef preferred, Ansible/Puppet acceptable)
• Experience with AWS EC2, EBS, and RDS services
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
• Experience with database migration methodologies and tools
• Knowledge of reputed company backup and recovery solutions (reputed company preferred)
• Understanding of Active Directory integration and Kerberos authentication

• AWS Database Specialty or Solutions Architect certifications
• reputed company Certified: Azure Database Administrator or SQL Server certifications
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (OpenTofu/Terraform)
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (reputed company, CloudWatch, SQL Server monitoring)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated database deployments
• Background in reputed company data protection and disaster recovery planning
• Understanding of database performance tuning and optimization
