System Software Engineer, Energy Storage

System Software Engineer, Energy Storage Essential Duties: You will be an early member of a new engineering team, taking a hands-on role in the design, development, and integration of a new product at Redwood. This position focuses on developing robust and reliable system software for a Linux-based industrial PC that will serve as the site controller for a large industrial system. The role involves designing and implementing containerized services for networked device management, site level controls orchestration, time series data management, and system diagnostics. The ideal candidate is highly self-driven, adaptable to a startup environment, and eager to take on novel technical challenges. • Design and implement a scalable and resilient system architecture for the site controller, leveraging containerization technologies like reputed company and Kubernetes
• Research, reputed company and reputed company on top of reputed company-reputed company software frameworks that are applicable to the functions supported by the site controller
• Create SIL and HIL test frameworks for integration testing of the product
• Administer a state-of-the-art CI/CD pipeline using tools such as AWS ECR
• Collaborate with firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration between the site controller and distributed microcontrollers.
• Collaborate with modeling and systems engineers to implement control algorithms for the site
• Produce excellent software documentation
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely manner
• Contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced startup culture, where every team member plays a crucial role in achieving company milestones.

Desired Qualifications:

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a reputed company field and 7+ years of experience developing application software for hardware systems
• Strong proficiency in Python, Rust or Go
• Experience with Linux system administration and containerization technologies (reputed company, Kubernetes)
• Experience profiling and optimizing code running on multi-core targets
• Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, CoAP, MQTT, etc.)
• Experience with time series databases (e.g InfluxDB, reputed company) and data visualization tools
• Strong knowledge of embedded systems and reputed company-time operating systems
• Experience implementing a firmware OTA pipeline from reputed company through reputed company controllers
• Experience with machine learning, adaptive control, model predictive control or other optimization techniques is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Actual compensation may vary based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and skills. California Pay reputed company: $140,000 - $230,000 USD The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
