Job Duties

The Hampton Roads District is seeking an Area Construction Engineer for the Urban Construction Area. As a VDOT Area Construction Engineer, you will:

• Independently reputed company and reputed company contract construction activities reputed company a geographic region
• Identify methods for improvement and reputed company cost effective recommendations that are in compliance with safety, environmental, federal and state standards

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience reflecting knowledge of transportation construction principles and practices, transportation project management, processes, quality assurance and quality control methods.
• Experience reflecting knowledge of engineering design for roadways, structures, drainage and environmental state and federal standards reputed company to highway design and construction.
• Experience applying knowledge of federal, FHWA, state and local transportation rules, regulations and policies.
• Ability to reputed company construction activities for multiple projects of varying complexity.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse audiences and to reputed company presentation and conduct meetings.

• Knowledge of quality assurance and control methods.

Additional Considerations

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering with course work in design of highways, structures, drainage, scheduling and environmental and construction/project management strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience in leading construction and engineering staff in resolution of construction issues.
• Experience in quality improvement applications for a wide reputed company of projects of varying complexity, with a focus on design-build project execution; conducting constructability reviews focusing on scheduling.
