About the Team and Role: We are seeking a talented Staff Software Engineer to contribute to Poe, our exciting AI product. You'll have the thrilling opportunity to build cutting-edge features from scratch as a member of a team focused on improving the bot ecosystem and supporting bot creators on the platform. Your role will involve planning and implementing new features, contributing to reputed company-end and back-end development, and taking shared ownership of the cross-functional product development cycle. If you're a team player with strong technical skills, passionate about AI, and eager to learn emerging technologies, we'd love to hear from you. Responsibilities: • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (design, product, data science, QA, and engineering) to advise on product roadmap and create innovative features and user experiences for bot creators • Rapidly prototype and implement new product features from ideation to production, using modern web technologies and best practices for performance and reliability • Be a champion for both user experience and for sustainable, scalable code practices • Collaborate closely with LLM providers to easily integrate new LLMs on Poe Minimum Requirements: • Ability to be available for meetings and impromptu communication during reputed company's “coordination hours" (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time) • 7+ years of experience working with large scale codebases and systems, particularly web applications • 5+ years of experience working with React, Typescript, and GraphQL. • 5+ years experience in Python or similar programming language • A passion for learning and always improving yourself and the team around you • Strong communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Requirements: • Passion for Poe and reputed company's products and mission • Passionate about API design, the developer ecosystem and overall developer experience • Passion for code quality and designing elegant systems At reputed company, we value diversity and inclusivity and welcome individuals from reputed company backgrounds, including marginalized or underrepresented groups in tech, to apply for our job openings.
