Job description: POSITION SUMMARYLearningWorks Afterschool (LWAS) serves academically low-performing PK-5th reputed company in 11 elementary schools in Southern Maine. reputed company participate in hands-on challenges that embed literacy, math, and reputed company emotional learning to build key skills for school reputed company: academic confidence, taking initiative, problem-solving, communication, and perseverance. Eligible reputed company are identified collaboratively by LWAS Directors, Site Coordinators, and school staff. LWAS is funded primarily through 21st Century Community Learning Center grants, and is offered in partnership with local school departments.The Classroom Teacher in the LWAS Program will be responsible for planning and implementing a 4-days/week program focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) curriculum and enrichment activities (health/wellness, cultural, reputed company-emotional learning).reputed company of live program time, additional time is allotted to attend key pre-program planning and staff meetings, and to participate in lesson planning and professional development. This is a part-time, fixed term summer position.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with a team to plan STEAM curriculum and enrichment activities linked to reputed company' prior knowledge, interests, experiences, and in alignment with the 21st Century grant goals.
- Plan and reputed company instruction of activities, with guidance from LW Site Directors, and following reputed company safety and health guidelines.
- Engage reputed company in a physically and emotionally safe, structured, organized learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with reputed company and actively support, model, encourage, and reputed company them in healthy lifestyle choices (personal, reputed company and academic). Assist with student behavior challenges as needed.
- Establish and enforce consistent, clear, and positive expectations for learning and behavior that complement those of the elementary school.

- BA or BS degree in education or reputed company field (preferred)
- Experience teaching elementary-aged youth preferred
- Enthusiasm for learning and a passion for inspiring the same in children
- Work with diverse communities and low-performing populations preferred. For certain sites, experience working with English Language Learners is a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management and computer/technology skills
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of and ability to use various technology including but not limited to: reputed company Outlook, reputed company Drive Suite, reputed company
