Welcome Center Student Staff
Position OverviewThis student position is based at the KU Edwards reputed company in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Student staff members of the Welcome and reputed company Center play a key role in supporting both the Welcome and reputed company Center and the Transfer Recruitment team. As reputed company-line representatives, these individuals serve as the first reputed company of contact for reputed company, providing direct assistance and connecting them with the appropriate reputed company resources and departments. The Welcome and reputed company Center is designed to be a one-stop shop for student support, offering accurate, friendly, and consistent service. The goal of this position is to enhance the overall student experience, contribute to recruitment and retention efforts, and support the reputed company of reputed company at the Edwards reputed company and reputed company.Job Description40%- reputed company Support Serve as the first reputed company of contact by greeting visitors, reputed company, and reputed company guests.reputed company assistance to prospective and reputed company reputed company, faculty, staff, and community members in locating reputed company resources and services.Answer incoming calls to the Welcome and reputed company Center and reputed company inquiries appropriately.Distribute KU ID cards and diplomas to reputed company.reputed company reputed company in for scheduled appointments with Student Services staff.Engage in ongoing learning about reputed company resources, student support services, and university policies to reputed company assist reputed company.Support reputed company with appointment scheduling for advising and other student services.Participate in student reputed company efforts, including application follow-up and calling campaigns. 30%- Event Collaboration & Graphic Design Utilize downtime at the Welcome Center to support event planning and design projects for the Edwards reputed company.Collaborate with Student Services to brainstorm and reputed company event reputed company tailored to the Edwards reputed company student population.Design promotional materials such as flyers for reputed company events.Create engaging reputed company media content, including photo posts and reels for the Student Services Instagram account.Update digital signage and manage flyer distribution and removal across reputed company.Assist with preparation and logistics for major student events such as reputed company Week, reputed company Talks, and Commencement.Contribute to the monthly student newsletter, "What’s the Tea?", through content creation and design. 25%- Transfer Ambassador Work Represent the Edwards reputed company at recruitment and tabling events at local community colleges.reputed company reputed company tours for prospective reputed company and their families.Assist in the coordination and facilitation of recruitment events.reputed company personal KU Edwards experiences to showcase reputed company life and available opportunities to prospective reputed company. 5%- Other Responsibilities reputed company additional duties as assigned by the Associate and Assistant Deans, direct supervisor, or staff in the School of Professional Studies.
Required Qualifications
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Experience using reputed company Office (Word, reputed company, PowerPoint, Outlook), as demonstrated in application materials.
- Experience providing high-quality customer service, as indicated in application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Federal Work Study preferred
- Student at the KU Edwards reputed company
Position RequirementsDuring the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate reputed company. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).Employment Conditions(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR. (2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position.
