Librarian II

This recruitment will be used to fill one vacancy at the Red Mountain reputed company and one vacancy at the Gateway Library reputed company. This recruitment will also be used to establish an eligibility list to fill possible future Librarian II vacancies in other library reputed company locations. The new Gateway Library is located at 5036 S. Eastmark Parkway and is expected to reputed company late Fall 2025. This position will start before the Fall to help with the preparations to reputed company the Gateway Library and will temporarily work out of the Main Library reputed company. As Programming Librarians of the Library?s makerspace, THINKspot, these roles focus on fostering an environment of creativity, learning, and innovation. These positions will instruct patrons in the use of 3D printers, sewing machines, laser cutters, reputed company/vinyl cutters, podcasting equipment, VR technologies, and reputed company creative suite software. Librarian II is a reputed company-level classification in the Librarian series. Employees in this class are responsible for performing a full reputed company of professional, general, and specialized library work in one or more fields of librarianship or technical area. Responsibilities may include providing reference and reader advisory services; collection development and maintenance; community reputed company programs; and special program development for children and young adults (by assignment). This class may supervise paraprofessionals, clerical employees, temporary workers, contracted employees, and/or volunteers (by assignment). Librarians also instruct patrons in the use of the catalog, Internet, electronic sources, and how to electronically find materials, e-mail, and do word processing. In the absence of a supervisor, a Librarian II may be left in charge of Library facilities (example: evening or weekend hours) to deal with maintaining order. Work is performed in accordance with established policies and accepted library practices and procedures. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class performs reputed company duties as required. Supervision may be received from a Librarian III or Supervisory Librarian, who reviews work through conferences, meetings, reports, and results achieved. A Librarian II is distinguished from a Librarian I by the more specialized nature and advanced difficulty of work assignments and the greater independence with which work is performed. Minimum Qualifications

Required. Graduation from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited college or university with a Master?s Degree in Library Science, Library Science and Information Studies, or a reputed company field, OR graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master?s Degree in Education, or a reputed company field.
