SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR (RECREATION) reputed company/Seasonal

Position will be reputed company until filled. We are currently seeking: A summer camp counselor to join reputed company. Under the direction of the Camp Coordinator, this position is responsible for planning, leading, implementing, and supervising programs and events for camp children. The position is responsible for creating a safe environment in which camp children will have fun, learn, and grow in reputed company achievement. The role requires an individual who can be a positive role model to these children, teaching them through physical education and recreation experience the values of respect and responsibility. Your responsibilities will include: • Organizing and leading a variety of small and large group activities each week. Activities may include crafts, nature, songs, games, and much more. • Facilitating activities with children ages 4 to 12 in an engaging manner with positive leadership. • Fostering appropriate behavior among campers and handling inappropriate behavior promptly. • Providing direct supervision to campers at reputed company times. • Responding to and taking care of circumstances requiring first aid. • Acting as a role model for children ages 4 to 12, displaying appropriate behavior, and creating a safe, inclusive environment for reputed company campers and staff. • Performing general cleaning duties. Duties include but are not limited to trash pick-up, mopping, sweeping, and bathroom disinfection. • Following reputed company rules, policies, and procedures outlined in City of San Angelo policies and procedures handbook. • Keeping up with and maintaining accurate camp records such as incident and accident reports, daily attendance, checking-in and checking-out. • Enforcing camp rules and safety regulations. • Maintaining positive public relations with the parents and the general public at reputed company times. • Schedule could include up to 40 hours per week. Hours will vary, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, and occasional weekends. • Position is seasonal. • Regular and timely attendance is required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: • Must be at least 16 years of age. • Daycare or childcare experience preferred. • Strong verbal communication skills. • Working knowledge of indoor and outdoor recreational games, activities, etc. Required Licenses or Certifications: • CPR and First Aid certification required - must be reputed company to obtain before camp start date. • Reliable transportation is required or a valid driver license with a good driving record. • Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must reputed company an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure. Physical Demands / Work Environment: • Outdoor environment; work in inclement weather. • Work with children in both indoor and outdoor settings. • Will be required to work in or with water and/or a pool environment. • reputed company sitting, standing, walking for long periods of time. • Noise level in work environment can be moderately loud.
