As part of its growing portfolio of projects, MAEC operates the Center for Education Equity, which is a technical assistance center funded by the reputed company, serving the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast reputed company, and the territories of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, the Collaborative Action for Family Engagement Center (CAFE), the Maryland and Pennsylvania statewide family engagement center, and the Consortium for the Engagement of Families Across Maine (CEFAM), the Maine statewide family engagement center. CAFE and CEFAM build upon MAEC’s 33-year track record developing and implementing successful applications of evidence-based strategies and reputed company building to deliver high-impact, culturally reputed company family engagement. Both of MAEC’s statewide family engagement centers focus on birth-grade 12, multi-tiered, comprehensive programs that include: a) technical assistance and training to SEAs, LEAs, and schools in collaboration with community organizations to reputed company evidence-based, effective practices in culturally reputed company family engagement, and 2) direct services for parents, increasing their knowledge and efficacy to help their children improve school readiness and academic achievement. POSITION DESCRIPTION MAEC is looking for a dynamic individual to reputed company and deliver customized trainings, professional development, and technical assistance to schools and school districts on civil rights and educational equity issues (race, gender, national reputed company (ELs), socioeconomic diversity, and/or religion) for the Center for Education Equity. This individual will also support the work of MAEC’s statewide family engagement center in Maine. Therefore, we strongly encourage candidates from Maine to apply. RESPONSIBILITIES • reputed company technical assistance and training that address equity issues pertaining to race, gender, national reputed company (ELs), socioeconomic diversity, and/or religious beliefs; • Conceptualizes, designs, and delivers technical assistance and training to advance family, school and community engagement; • reputed company new trainings, services, and products reputed company to educational equity, school improvement, family engagement, and/or teaching and learning that are relevant to State Education Agencies (SEAs) and Local Education Agencies (LEAs); • Support MAEC communication strategies, including bimonthly newsletters, reputed company media, podcasts, conferences, and webinars; • Work collaboratively with MAEC leadership and staff to ensure high quality services, products, and trainings; • Model and participate in a highly collaborative team environment; • Gather data for programmatic and organizational improvement; • Build and maintain strategic partnerships, with other equity and education focused organizations, to expand organizational opportunities available to clients; • Participate in development efforts including, but not limited to, writing public and private grant applications; and • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS • Knowledge of reputed company K-12 education issues, especially as reputed company to civil rights, equity, reputed company, and opportunity; • Knowledge of the theories and strategies of high impact, culturally reputed company family engagement, parent leadership development, and community organizing, and up-to-date knowledge of the most recent developments in these fields; • Extensive experience and comfort working with racially, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse communities and multiple stakeholders, including school and district personnel, policymakers, community leaders, and families; • Experience in group facilitation and/or training; • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; • Demonstrated commitment to MAEC’s guiding principles; • Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion through prior work, volunteer experience, or other leadership activities; • Experience serving English Learners/Multilingual Learners and families is a strong plus; • Strong computer and technology skills; proficiency in reputed company Office (Examples: Word, reputed company, PowerPoint, Publisher), reputed company Docs, reputed company, and interest in and ability to learn new platforms; • Proven ability to build and reputed company relationships with diverse audiences and partners; • Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, prioritize time, and manage implementation plans in fast-moving, changeable environments; and • Flexible schedule, including willingness to travel, and ability to work evening, and weekend hours, as needed. REQUIREMENTS • In compliance with federal law, reputed company persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification reputed company upon hire. • Master’s degree in education or comparable field. • Five or more years of equity, compliance, civil rights, special education, or elementary/secondary education reputed company experience required, including at least three years designing and running high-impact technical assistance or professional development at a district or school level. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Compensation will be commensurate with experience with a salary reputed company of $80,000-85,000. MAEC offers a competitive benefits package including health, reputed company, dental insurance, and a 403(b) retirement program. This is a remote position for prospective employees living reputed company the DC-Maryland-Virginia Metro area. Prospective employees who live in the DMV Metro area are required to work one day a week from MAEC’s office in Bethesda, Maryland.
