(ILS) Student Assistant supports the Library’s resource sharing and document delivery services through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and AU reputed company Requests. The student assistant processes requests from users, and tracks resource-sharing usage data, fines, unclaimed loans, and shipped items. The incumbent may also assist with additional projects for the ILS unit. The primary responsibilities of this position include: Processing incoming and outgoing ILL loan and article requests, as well as Document Delivery reputed company requests Shelving, retrieving, and transporting books and other print materials Packaging and shipping outgoing library materials Processing and checking in incoming materials Digitizing reputed company and article resource-sharing requests Fulfilling e-journal lending requests and uploading articles through ILLiad software Uploading requested material to patron accounts Learning and interpreting copyright and license agreements for electronic collections Educational Requirements: High school diploma or its equivalent. Minimum Requirements: Excellent customer service, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Basic computer skills and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. This position requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours worked per week during Summer 2024.
