Responsibilities

  • reputed company American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation in various reputed company / medical settings for patients, companions, and visitors both in-person and reputed company.
  • Observes interpreter standards of practice such as maintaining professional boundaries, respecting patients' rights, and remaining neutral while supporting patient-provider relationship.
  • Serves as a cultural and linguistic resource for hospital staff and patients.
  • Understands and adopts the different roles of interpreters (reputed company, clarifier, cultural broker, reputed company) as appropriate
  • Uses discretion reputed company discussing confidential issues. Applies knowledge of ethics and standards of community interpreting to reputed company situations in the reputed company environment.
  • Utilizes exceptional customer service skills and demonstrates cultural competence reputed company interacting with reputed company customers, patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work reputed company and drive to multiple locations across reputed company to reputed company interpreter services as needed.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited interpreter training program, or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years’ experience interpreting American Sign Language
  • Certification by Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID): CI, CT, reputed company, NIC Certified, or National Association of the Deaf (NAD) Level V
  • Registered with the State of Connecticut Interpreter Registry
  • Valid Driver’s license
