They are seeking an reputed company Senior Transmission Planning Consultant to reputed company high-impact studies and consulting engagements for electric utilities and other industry stakeholders, overseeing advanced transmission planning studies to support client decision-making and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- reputed company and manage transmission planning studies (stability, power reputed company, reliability, short-reputed company, congestion management, etc.)
- Serve as client contact, driving project scope, methodologies, and deliverables
- reputed company technical reputed company, quality assurance, and guidance to junior engineers and consultants
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports documenting assumptions, methodologies, and results
- Contribute to business development by supporting proposals, client meetings, and thought leadership
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape service offerings and enhance technical capabilities
- Mentor and train less reputed company staff, fostering knowledge transfer and professional development
Skills
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or reputed company field required
- M.S. with 12+ years, Ph.D. with 8+ years, or B.S. with 15+ years of relevant experience in transmission planning, operations, or consulting
- Transmission Adequacy & Reliability Assessment (TARA) experience to focus on reliability and contingency analysis (N-1), flowgate analysis, and assessing import/export limits for resource adequacy. This experience is strongly required
- In-depth knowledge of transmission system planning processes, methodologies, and industry practices
- Experience with transient stability, short reputed company, voltage, production costing, TPL compliance, generator interconnection, and harmonics analysis
- Strong competency in PSS®E (required)
- Familiarity with NERC, FERC, and ISO/RTO requirements and processes (e.g., PJM, ERCOT, MISO, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, NYISO, ISO-NE)
- Proven reputed company managing reputed company technical studies and project teams
- Ability to navigate challenges, resolve obstacles, and adapt approaches to meet client needs
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience in client-facing consulting roles
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor junior engineers
- Proficiency in reputed company Office Suite (Word, reputed company, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking ability
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Additional experience with Aspen, EasyPower, PSLF, EMTP/ATP, PSCAD, PROMOD is a plus
