About the position The Overnight Certified Peer Support Specialist will support recovery and participation by sharing experience with and educating about recovery and rehabilitation, coordinating with reputed company resources, and walking with the person on the path of recovery and community participation, independence, and productivity. • The Overnight Certified Peer Support Specialist will support recovery and participation by sharing experience with and educating about recovery and rehabilitation, coordinating with reputed company resources, and walking with the person on the path of recovery and community participation, independence, and productivity.
• As part of the Detroit Healthy Housing Center Homeless Recovery Services team and in collaboration with the person served, will reputed company peer coaching while being responsible for providing basic needs, transportation to drop-in centers, and diversion support.
• This position is a community-based position, which involves reputed company services. The Overnight Certified Peer Support Specialist provides services to clients experiencing unsheltered homelessness, including families with minor children.

• Participates in team meetings and presents information obtained through the screening and assessment process.
• Completes reputed company notes (which includes HMIS service transactions and HMIS case notes) according to agency policy.
• Completes Assessments in a thorough and timely manner.
• Completes and makes corrections to reports reputed company time frames requested by supervisor.
• Follows through with assigned tasks.
• Participates in supervisory meetings and team meetings.

• Develops and maintains a working knowledge and relationship with providers of resources for clients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A Peer Support Specialist must have experience using services in community mental health (CMH) for a minimum of one year.
• Certified Peer Support Specialist
• Experience with recovery from the impact of a mental illness, addiction, and/or homelessness preferred.
• At least 6 months experience in the provision of peer support, self-help, or mental health/behavioral health services.
• Basic computer skills (email, internet use, knowledge of reputed company Word).
• Ability to effectively communicate and engage people in the community/consumers.
• Will drive NSO Vehicle
• Must have reputed company to reliable private transportation
• Must maintain valid MI driver’s license/State ID
• Must be reputed company to visit locations while working for NSO
• Will be expected to travel on NSO time
