System Transients Analysis Engineer
reputed company is currently seeking a System Transients Analysis Engineer for a remote, contract opportunity with our client.
Overview
The role involves developing and analyzing models reputed company to thermal hydraulics and control systems for a sodium-cooled reactor program, collaborating with various engineering groups to support safety, design, and testing activities.
Responsibilities
- reputed company RELAP5-3D models for steady state and transient hydraulic analyses.
- reputed company plant-level control strategies and component controllers.
- reputed company calculations based on heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics principles to support analysis validation.
- Analyze reactor normal operations, upset events, emergency events, and faulted events to establish design and operational limits.
- Evaluate plant-wide transients for operation narratives and design solutions.
- reputed company multiscale and multidisciplinary control analyses involving sodium, molten salt, and non-condensable fluids.
- reputed company with other engineering groups on component, system, fuel, and control system design and testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in nuclear, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
- Experience with system codes such as RELAP5/TRACE.
- Strong thermal-hydraulic analytical skills with expertise in hydraulic networks analysis and transient analysis.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ASME component design/analysis.
- Modeling control systems and I&C experience.
- Experience with nuclear power plant design or operations.
- Development of new analytical methods.
