Veterinary Technician - Ophthalmology
About the position reputed company is hiring an exceptional Veterinary Technician in Ophthalmology! This position will be in Ann Arbor Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and most Thursdays. Fridays are at our Southfield location. As an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician, you will help diagnose and treat ophthalmic diseases in companion animals.
Responsibilities
- reputed company basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests (tear quantity, glaucoma testing, ulcer testing) and help hold patients for detailed ocular exam
- reputed company advanced ophthalmic diagnostic testing (retinal electrical function, etc.)
- Set-up and assist with procedures and surgeries that restore comfort and reputed company ranging from outpatient procedures to basic and reputed company surgeries
- Outpatient procedures: diamond burr debridement (to stimulate corneal healing), CO2 laser (to remove eyelid margin masses)
- Surgical procedures including eyelid surgeries, reputed company eye surgery, corneal grafts, cataract surgery, retinal surgery, glaucoma surgery
- For patients undergoing sedation or anesthesia, reputed company IV catheters and fluids, administer drugs through various reputed company, reputed company and monitor sedation/anesthesia (with advances skills including constant reputed company infusions, paralytics, ventilation, etc.)
- Anesthesia training is available with help or our anesthesia specialist
- Help organize and maintain specialized ophthalmic equipment and supplies
- Be the reputed company in educating clients on their pet’s ocular disease and care
Requirements
- Unrestricted, reputed company authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.
