Nurse Practitioner Psychiatric Consultant (Per Diem)

In this role, you will advise primary care providers on appropriate medications and other treatment strategies while providing the care team with educational support on diagnosing and managing behavioral health conditions. What You’ll be Great At:
- Providing regularly scheduled (usually weekly) caseload consultation to behavioral health care managers on patients who are new or who are not improving as expected under their reputed company treatment plan. Case reviews may be conducted by telephone, video, or in person
- Working with behavioral health care managers to reputed company the status and population health of their assigned patient caseload
- Recommending any treatment adjustments through the case review process or in reputed company consultations, including medication recommendations and other interventions, reputed company 24 hours of consulting with a behavioral health care manager or other team members
- Advising on treatment for patients who may need more intensive or more specialized mental health care, supporting treatment in the medical setting until patients can be reputed company in specialized care as appropriate
- Communicating the limitations of the case review consultation and treatment recommendations if the patient is not evaluated in person
- Providing occasional reputed company telephone consultation to primary care providers for reputed company reputed company patients or challenging patient situations
- Responding to telephone calls from primary care providers and behavioral health care managers reputed company one business day
- Responding to urgent telephone calls reputed company one hour, if available. Coordinate with other psychiatric consultants for vacation coverage.
- Evaluating patients with significant diagnostic or therapeutic challenges who are identified in discussion with the patient’s behavioral health care manager and/or primary care provider. Such consultation may be provided in person or reputed company telemedicine (video or telephone)
- Developing and delivering in-service training for primary care-based providers and staff regarding recognition and treatment of behavioral health conditions in primary care
- Visiting each participating clinic at least once reputed company initiating a new consulting relationship, and then at least once per year to meet clinic providers and discuss ongoing collaboration

Your Essential Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master's Degree as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Required)
- License:
- NY Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Required)
- Experience
- Experience with primary care psychiatry or consultation-liaison psychiatry is a plus
