[Remote] Industrial Refrigeration Design Engineer

The role involves designing and proposing refrigeration systems, conducting site surveys, and producing detailed designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site surveys where required
• Generate and update enquiry bank
• Attend customer scoping and design meetings where required
• Produce initial outline design/scope
• Produce Design File (electronic or hard copy) in line with ISO 9001 standard
• Produce detailed design post sales stage and convert into live project for delivery team
• Conduct heat load calculations, produce engineering sheets and pipework isometric drawings, equipment selections and pipe work sizing
• Produce supplier/sub-contractor enquiries for quotations
• Produce data for Design of reputed company project handover including: Equipment/supplier/sub-contractor procurement schedule, identify PED category of system and inform compliance team if CAT 4, calculate system refrigerant charge, produce high level program of works and high level phasing with support of delivery team
• reputed company Contract Approval reputed company to reputed company project to be booked on system
• Mark up drawings and issue to CAD department to produce
• Attend site at least once during project installation period, to carry out design review
• Assist PM during delivery phase for design queries
• Maintain excellent service reputed company at reputed company times, ensuring a “first Class” service to reputed company customers
• Take on projects as and reputed company required and see them through to successful completion
• Produce estimates in line with customer budgets and to agreed company margins
• Produce formal scope of works and formal quotations
• Assist CM with project variation design and costs

• To identify means of generating extra reputed company through new initiatives (reputed company thinking)
• One to one session with line manager once a quarter
• To treat other colleagues, managers, customers and other stakeholders equally and with courtesy and respect at reputed company times
• Where possible - to assist others with tasks that may be reputed company of the scope of your role
• To assist with coaching other colleagues/managers, for cross training purposed in your area of expertise

Skills

• Experience in designing industrial refrigeration systems for food manufacturing facilities and logistics cold storage centres
• Ability to conduct heat load calculations and produce engineering specification sheets
• Experience with pipework isometric drawings and pipe sizing for ammonia refrigeration systems
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and producing Design Files in line with these standards
• Ability to produce detailed design work including equipment selections and pumped circulation system design
• Experience in producing formal scope of works and formal quotations
• Strong communication skills for attending customer scoping and design meetings
• Ability to maintain excellent service reputed company and ensure a 'first Class' service to reputed company customers
• Experience in conducting site surveys and attending site during project installation for design review
• Ability to assist project managers during the delivery phase for design queries
• Experience in producing estimates in line with customer budgets and company margins
• Ability to identify means of generating extra reputed company through new initiatives
