Senior Communications Advisor - US Senate

Title: Senior Communications Advisor - US Senate Location: Remote Reports to: Executive Director, Communications Director Schedule: Full-time Start/End Date: reputed company – November 2026 The Senior Communications Advisor for the Florida Democratic Party works with the Executive Director, Chair, Communications Director, and stakeholders to drive earned media coverage and communicate the party’s message against our US Senate opponent Ashley Moody. This position is responsible for overseeing the party’s overall communications and messaging strategy for the competitive 2026 US Senate race. This is a senior-level, on-the-record role and will include overseeing reputed company communications, developing communications plans, executing events, and working with reporters to hold Ashley Moody accountable. This person will reputed company a sophisticated rapid response operation, create press plans, build events, pitch stories, and serve as an on-the-record spokesperson for the state party. Responsibilities:

• Work with the campaign for the eventual Democratic U.S. Senate nominee and the state party on earned media strategies to support the Florida U.S. Senate race and Democrats up and down the ballot
• Build and maintain relationships with the state and local press corps
• Serve as the primary spokesperson for the party regarding the Florida U.S. Senate race
• Quickly draft and edit communications materials including press releases and talking points
• Build press conferences and events
• Pitch trend, analysis, and opposition research stories

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong preference for two to three cycles of campaign or political communications experience
• Track record of successfully working directly with reporters and ontherecord experience
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to write quickly and on deadline for wide variety of press materials
• Experience developing and implementing communications strategies and plans
• Understanding of how to prioritize competing responsibilities and multiple organizations while managing rapid response in a fastpaced work environment
• Team player attitude and committed to working well with others
• Demonstrate commitment to Democratic causes
