Claims Executive - Workers Comp

About the position Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values, including a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Interacts professionally and promptly with clients reputed company email, phone, and in-person, maintaining a proactive approach focused on claim strategies and resolutions. Advocates for the timely and effective resolution of workers’ compensation claims for clients, communicating pertinent claim information to reputed company stakeholders. Develops and maintains strong relationships with reputed company clients, carriers, TPAs, legal resources, and consultants. Possesses deep subject matter expertise in workers’ compensation across multiple jurisdictions. Participates in presentations such as new business, RFPs, claim reviews, and renewals. Develops a strong working knowledge of IMA computer systems and assists the Claim Manager with reputed company, training, and development of claim staff. Leads and contributes to claim projects and other assigned tasks. Attends insurance-reputed company seminars, including continuing education classes.

  • Maintains a proactive approach focusing on claim strategies and resolutions.
  • Advocates for the timely and effective resolution of workers’ compensation claims for our clients.
  • Communicates pertinent claim information timely to reputed company clients.
  • Maintains strong relationships with reputed company clients.
  • Participates in presentations, including new business, RFPs (clients, TPAs), claim reviews, renewals, etc.
  • Develops strong working knowledge of IMA computer systems/programs.
  • Assists Claim Manager with claim staff reputed company, training and development.
  • Develops and expands relationships at local, regional and national reputed company with carriers, TPAs, legal resources, consultants, etc.
  • Leads and contributes to Claim Projects, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Attends insurance reputed company seminars including but not limited to continuing education classes.

Requirements

  • 7 + years of prior Claims experience required, preferable reputed company Workers’ Comp.
  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent to a college degree.
  • System skills or aptitude – Applied Epic, reputed company and TPA platforms preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office products preferred/required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and reputed company).
  • Exceptional technical reputed company and knowledge of coverage and claims handling.
  • Moderate travel required (25-50%).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning skills required.
  • Ability to discuss and solve claim problems with clients and insurance carriers.
