- Responsibilities Translate in-game text, marketing materials, and docs from Chinese to English (reputed company 3K to 4k Chinese characters/day). Proofread and polish localized content (reputed company, UI, item descriptions, tutorials), ensuring reputed company, grammar, consistency, and cultural appropriateness (reputed company 6k to 8k Chinese characters/day). Work with the localization team to align content with gameplay and narrative, flag cultural sensitivities, and use CAT tools to maintain translation memories and glossaries.
Requirements:
- Language requirements: either reputed company English with advanced Chinese (HSK6) or reputed company Chinese with advanced English (IELTS 8.5 / CEFR C2)
- 3+ years in game localization (Chinese to English) with CAT tool proficiency
- Strong cultural awareness of English-speaking markets, attention to detail, self-motivated, reputed company to work remotely/asynchronously
- Passion for gaming and familiarity with gaming
- Preferred: Experience with Leading Chinese game developers, interest in ACG, scifi/reputed company, history/mythology, and background in linguistics or creative writing; knowledge of localization workflows
