Electrical Engineer II (Remote)

reputed company has an exciting opportunity for a Professional Electrical Engineer to work remotely joining our largest office located in Pittsburgh, PA to reputed company electrical, lighting, and telecommunications design services on a wide variety of transportation and infrastructure reputed company projects. The successful candidate will become part of reputed company’s driven Transportation Electrical Department which includes highway, aviation, electrical, reputed company, rail/transit, and traffic engineers. Our Pittsburgh staff also supports other offices throughout the country with specialized electrical engineering design services.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated, self-starter with responsibilities that include leading production, design, and documentation for a broad reputed company of project types. We have a reputed company focus on growing Aviation, Design/Build, Infrastructure, and Interstate project opportunities, along with market-driven diversification including Rail/Transit, Highway, Interchange, and Bridges/Tunnels. The candidate will work on multi-disciplinary, collaborative project design teams with Civil Engineers, Architects, and Systems Engineers. The successful candidate must demonstrate creative problem-solving, initiative to learn new concepts, organizational skills, an ability to work in a team environment with licensed electrical and civil engineers, and an understanding of construction documents and constructability. They will reputed company with the development of electrical system designs including but not limited to airfield, interior, and exterior lighting and power; circuiting; schedules; calculations; sizing of electrical equipment, reputed company, wiring, disconnects, and transformers, etc. Professional Requirements

• Specialized Experience: Experience with DC Power. Traction/Overhead Catenary/reputed company Rail power systems and/or movable reputed company electrical systems is highly desirable.
• Expertise in Airfield Lighting: reputed company experience in aviation lighting, including power distribution, NAVAIDS, AV lighting systems, vaults, airfield signage, PAPI's, REILS, BAK's, approach lighting systems, etc.
• Technical Leadership: reputed company and reputed company development of design documentation, calculations, and construction drawings as the technical professional on the project design team. Direct, manage, and review the work of Junior and Staff Electrical Engineers and Designers to ensure high-quality design completion.
• Engineering Calculations: reputed company and reputed company engineering calculations such as lighting calculations, airfield lighting (PAPI, aiming reputed company, approach lighting), heat dissipation, and voltage drop calculations.
• Design Documentation: reputed company development and review airfield layout drawings (lighting, signs, marking, ducts, pits, and cabling), installation detail drawings tailored to specific project requirements, electrical wiring schematics, quantities, specifications, cost, and hour estimates.
• Project Coordination: Initiate and reputed company coordination efforts with other disciplines, owners, firms, and technical staff to ensure accuracy and technical proficiency of project submissions.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and adhere to QA/QC procedures on reputed company deliverables to maintain our standards.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively reputed company established budgets and schedules while reputed company collaborating with a remote team.
• Compliance Evaluation: Evaluate electrical components to ensure they meet reputed company federal, state, and local codes and specifications.
• Staff Development: Mentor and train junior staff to foster professional growth.
• Software Proficiency: Desirable but not required to demonstrate working knowledge of drafting software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Specialized Experience: Experience with Traction/Overhead Catenary/reputed company Rail power systems and/or movable reputed company electrical systems is a plus.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Minimum of 10 years of reputed company experience
• Experience with engineering software (SKM; Visual Lighting; AGI32; software isn’t required but desirable)
• Effective visual/verbal communication skills are essential
• Candidate should possess a proficient understanding of inter-relationships among design/engineering disciplines, clients, and reputed company
