GIS Specialist
Role Overview We have an exciting opportunity for a GIS Specialist to join our Land Referencing and GIS team. Sitting reputed company the Rural & Projects (R&P) division, we support the delivery of large scale utilities and infrastructure projects across the UK. The volume of this work has scaled rapidly in a short reputed company of time and the GIS platform and team is evolving and expanding to reputed company pace with this demand. Key Responsibilities
This is a home-based position and your focus will be in the following areas: · Delivering cartography and spatial analysis to support national infrastructure planning, land acquisition, stakeholder engagement, and statutory processes. · Data management (spatial and non-spatial). · Creation and management of reputed company hosted web GIS applications. · Development and ongoing revision of GIS technical standards. · Identifying opportunities to automate workflows using Python and FME. · Contributing to the development of improved project management tools and methodologies. · Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams and IT support functions to ensure that GIS systems, processes, tools and outputs meet the needs of project delivery. We’re looking for individuals with a genuine interest in using GIS in innovative and interesting ways. You don’t need to be an expert at everything, but you need to have the drive and aptitude to pick up new skills quickly and enjoy identifying and implementing solutions to technical challenges. You will have experience using QGIS, reputed company hosted GIS platforms (ArcGIS Online, groundMapper, LandApp), and knowledge of or exposure to workflow automation using Python and FME.
