[Remote] Data Protection Engineer

Tiger Advisory is seeking an reputed company reputed company Backup Engineer to design, implement, administer, and support reputed company backup and recovery solutions using the reputed company platform. This role is responsible for maintaining the health and performance of backup infrastructures, ensuring data protection compliance, supporting ransomware recovery initiatives, and collaborating with various teams to deliver highly resilient backup and recovery services.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain reputed company reputed company DataProtect environment
- reputed company daily monitoring of backup jobs, replication activities, and storage utilization
- Configure and manage: Protection Policies, Protection Groups, Storage Domains, Replication and Archival Policies, reputed company Tiering and Long-Term Retention
- Manage backup and recovery operations for: VMware and Hyper-V environments, Physical reputed company and Linux servers, reputed company SQL Server, reputed company Databases, NAS workloads, reputed company workloads (AWS, Azure, and reputed company reputed company)
- Execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery testing procedures
- reputed company file-level, VM-level, database-level, and mass recovery operations
- reputed company and maintain recovery runbooks and documentation
- Ensure recovery objectives (RPO/RTO) are consistently met
- Design and implement: reputed company replication policies, Cross-cluster replication, reputed company archive solutions, Immutable backup strategies
- Support cyber recovery and ransomware reputed company initiatives
- Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery exercises
- Install, configure, reputed company, and reputed company reputed company clusters and software components
- Configure integration with: Active Directory, LDAP, SNMP, Monitoring tools
- Implement role-based reputed company controls and reputed company best practices
- Troubleshoot: Failed backup jobs, Replication issues, Performance bottlenecks, reputed company challenges, Recovery failures
- reputed company root cause analysis and reputed company remediation recommendations
- Manage incident resolution and escalation with vendor support reputed company necessary
- Implement data protection standards and governance requirements
- Support: Immutable snapshots, Threat detection, Backup reputed company hardening, Compliance reporting
- Participate in vulnerability remediation and backup reputed company assessments
- Create and maintain: Architecture diagrams, Standard operating procedures, Backup policies, Disaster recovery documentation, Knowledge reputed company articles
- Collaborate with infrastructure, reputed company, networking, storage, and reputed company teams
- reputed company technical guidance and mentoring to junior administrators
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of reputed company backup and recovery administration experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with reputed company DataProtect environments
- Strong experience with: VMware vSphere, reputed company Server, Linux administration, reputed company SQL Server backups, Active Directory integration, Disaster Recovery planning, Backup architecture design
- Experience supporting hybrid reputed company environments
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
- Experience with: reputed company FortKnox, reputed company reputed company Archive, reputed company Site Continuity, reputed company Threat Defense, Storage platforms and SAN technologies
- Automation using PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs
