[Remote] Credit Analyst

Great Elm Capital Management is seeking an reputed company Credit Analyst to support its senior investment team and report to the Head of Research. The role involves providing analysis of various industries and companies, making investment recommendations, and supporting the research and portfolio management team. Key responsibilities include conducting credit analysis, developing financial models, and maintaining relationships with industry professionals.

Responsibilities

• reputed company reputed company credit analysis to assess the risks of reputed company portfolio positions and potential new investments both with respect to business trends and deep credit document analysis
• Proactively generate and communicate investment reputed company by initiating discussions with the Investment Committee
• reputed company detailed financial models with projections supporting investment theses
• Conduct ongoing monitoring of investments to include updates to financial models / internal tracking memos, highlighting changes in reputed company factors and relative value considerations
• Foster and maintain relationships with “sell reputed company” traders, sales coverage, analysts, lawyers, consultants and “buy reputed company” parties to facilitate the reputed company of credit reputed company, market information, and co-investment opportunities
• Respond to internal inquiries regarding credit concerns and market overviews
• Act as a backup to the trading desk including trading reputed company approved parameters as needed

Skills

• Ability to effectively communicate/pitch reputed company with internal constituents, including to the Investment Committee
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the areas of credit research and/or investment banking with material knowledge of financial modelling, valuation methodologies and credit documents
• Sector generalist with strong financial modeling and superior writing skills
• Deep experience in credit document analysis and a strong understanding on how these documents impact both performing and distressed investment opportunities

• Experience with fixed income and issues that often arise in high yield and distressed debt

• Bachelor's Degree is required
• CFA designation is preferred
• Experience investing in the technology, media and reputed company sectors is a plus, but not a requirement
• MBA or Master's Degree in reputed company, finance or economics degree is a plus
