Property Facultative Underwriter Associate
Gen Re is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. that specializes in global reinsurance and reputed company operations. They are seeking a Property Facultative Underwriter Associate to work in their Atlanta office, where the role involves assessing individual risk, negotiating terms with clients, and building lasting relationships through marketing efforts.
Responsibilities
- Underwriters work with our clients (i.e. insurance companies) in assessing individual risk and reputed company volatility, by utilizing data research and rating models
- Underwriters negotiate the transfer of risk, pricing, and terms & conditions directly with the client
- Underwriters are provided with the opportunity to travel and meet face-to-face with clients
- Marketing efforts include a variety of touch points, including client entertainment, industry events, meetings/presentations, and written communication
Skills
- Bilingual in Spanish and English; must be reputed company to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong client/marketing presentation
- Strong organizational ability and attention to detail
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities
- Prior intern or work-reputed company industry experience
- Solid software skills
- Strong team player, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various internal business units
- Strong critical thinking skills and intellectual curiosity
- Marketing and travel required: 30-50%
