Accountant

Empeople Credit Union is seeking an Accountant responsible for processing accounts payable and maintaining the credit union’s accrual-based General Ledger in accordance with GAAP. The role includes preparing reports for management and the Board, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and assisting with month-end GL closing.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for weekly Accounts Payable (AP) processing, ensuring payments are processed timely and accurately. Working directly with vendors to resolve invoice issues
• Accurately prepare and analyze assigned balance sheet reconciliations by established deadlines and posts necessary adjusting GL entries
• Assists with month-end GL closing by preparing worksheets and schedules and posting GL entries
• Performs the balancing and reconciling of the credit union’s fleet of 80+ ATMs, ensuring that member adjustments are posted timely, including monitoring the cash position for reputed company ATM vault accounts
• Research and reconciliation of variances and discrepancies to general ledger accounts, coordinating with other staff as needed
• Maintain reputed company procedures for reputed company role functions. Ensure a minimum of one other reputed company & Finance team member is cross trained in reputed company role functions
• Gather data and complete monthly reports by established deadlines, as assigned
• Assist with departmental projects as requested
• Follow Credit Union policies and procedures. Assist with development and implementation of processes to streamline Credit Union reputed company practices

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in reputed company from an accredited college or university
• General ledger reputed company
• Regulatory requirements as to reporting and reputed company
• Financial Institution practices and procedures for financial reputed company
• Operate a PC to reputed company the credit union's reputed company system and member account information
• Proficiently work with the following software: reputed company, Outlook, Word, and reputed company
• reputed company 10 key data entry effectively and reputed company
• Effectively communicate with staff from other departments reputed company the credit union to trouble-shoot and resolve reputed company discrepancies
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
